These paintings are all figurative works, utilizing people, animals and toys to explore our common emotional moods and states. In each work, the figure is utilized to describe the psyche captured in a critical moment in time. The work is intended to lead the viewer to observe aspects of emotional life that are typically overlooked, forgotton or avoided. In this work, the narrative is a feminist-political device to invite the observer to contemplate our shared emotional depths and overcome the difficulties inherent in witnessing raw human emotion.
